Sample of Work for SyNC Afterschool Program

I've worked very closely with Zion Climbing Center ( formerly Zion Rock Gym ) out of Searcy, AR for nearly 4 years now. Helping to establish a creative & cohesive Brand Identity. Recently they have developed an afterschool program: SyNC - Searcy Youth Neighborhood Community.

This is a recent flyer I've developed to send to prospective registrants, local schools & civic groups. The program is an incredible opportunity for both parents & kids. For the parents it is a safe & financially responsible afterschool program ( only $150 a month ) and the kids get exposure to both Indoor Rock Climbing & Martial Arts Programs.

Recently, I've been having serious thoughts of actively directing myself in the direction of a Photographic Career. So I had a mini shoot of the only available human subject on a late Friday evening.

I shot these in my apt. parking lot in front of our dumpster. It was a little weird being in public taking shots of myself - it felt very vain. This feeling was quickly inhibited when a neighbor was cleaning for a move. He ended up throwing away a stereo - I didn't know then but it was completely busted. Well, not two minutes after he pitched it and walked away a couple who was waiting in our parking lot jumped in that dumpster and fished it out. They were young and determined. The girl went in semi-reluctantly and I don't think she every became quite comfortable with the goop she was wading in. Anyhow she came out, dirtier and smellier, but at least one (busted) stereo happier.

So the tidbit learned here: putting yourself in tough situations like, shooting pictures of yourself so the whole world can see can easily pay off with interactions you could have never expected.

Ok. So a bit of a detour from the office - my apartment. I recently purchased a new shower head because the one that came with my space was, quite frankly gross. So I went into the Walmart with the idea that I'd spare no expense to find the perfect shower water dispenser. Well, when I got to the assortment of styles, and prices, I wimped out and picked up the Walmart special, picture above - $2.98. I was nervous it would not be what I needed but figured for 3 bucks it was worth the gamble.

Well, to my surprise this has been an INCREDIBLE find! It works fantastically! kudos to Walmart for bringing this supplier on board.

i'd like to make mention of a great magazine community i'm a part of | ReadyMade Magazine

for the most part i am hit or miss when it comes to magazines...you know, flavor of the week type stuff, but this one has really impressed me. the articles are niche mostly - but interesting to all. there has never been an issue that has not challenged me to attempt at least one of their projects.

While wondering around the office this morning I noticed these labels in our shipping room. Neutrals and One POP color is always nice and energetic in my opinion. So I thought I'd role with it.

My favorite man bag from Threadless in Chicago. It's a constant presence in my office. Such a nifty and sustainable idea - it acts as a re-usable shopping bag, free advertisement and a coupon to encourage use. Brilliant!

I'm generally a neat guy, as neat as a single fella is expected to be I suppose. This changes a bit during the "process"; Media is scattered, as are my thoughts.

The above images were captured during one of my most recent sessions.

These are a few shots of some postcards i've recently had printed. They grew out of a evening where I was contemplative of deeper things. What I want the "Voice" of my life to be.

The first in a series, TUFFLOVE, is a graphical example of how difficult it can be at times to love those who are selfish, rude, undeserving and the such. Of course, we all are subject to such classification at some time. But the message is still the same, Love them anyway.

Because not loving them is the easy thing to do.
